For measuring distances between sensor and (moving) objects in combination with the WiLab.
The distance is determined from the time it takes for an ultrasonic pulse to travel from the emitter to the object and back again,
and the speed of sound. During the measurement, a soft click can always be heard from the sensor.
The sensor can be placed on a flat surface, or attached to common stand material with a stand rod which is included.
Technical specifications:
Analogue signal
Measuring range: 20 ... 600 cm
Resolution: 1 mm
Accuracy: 2 mm
Sampling rate: 100 Hz
Dimensions: 51 x 29 x 64 mm
Experiment examples:
- Students moving towards or away from the sensor
- Objects in harmonic oscillation, such as weights on a coil spring
- Movement of a pendulum
- Experimental trolleys moving on a table top or on an inclined plane
- Flying objects
- Jumping objects (also in combination with a force sensor)
- Falling objects
